„Mephisto“ at the Tonhalle Zurich with Ruth Dürrenmatt as Special Guest
This concert was generously supported by the FOUNDATION SUISA.
An exciting concert on the theme of Mephistopheles presented by the Empyrean Orchestra, with commentary by conductor Kevin Griffiths.
Ruth Dürrenmatt, daughter of the celebrated Swiss writer Friedrich Dürrenmatt, presents one of her own compositions. Listeners can expect a devilishly exciting evening of music, including the “Danse macabre” by Camille Saint-Saëns, a Mephistopheles overture by the very young Swiss composer Joel Henrik Helle, as well as “La Campanella” from Paganini's Violin Concerto and the popular Concerto for Two Pianos by Francis Poulenc. This evening will be more than just a concert – it will be a major event.
